In the past the plant often grew as a weed in cornfields, hence its name. Cornflowers have an upright posture, helping them fit in tight spaces. The cornflower nectar is unusually sweet making it a delicious food source for many beneficial insects. Plant throughout the garden. They make beautiful cut flowers.

Plant in full sun position in good well-drained soil. Encourage growth by adding some balanced organic fertilizer. If planting together, space 20cms apart.
