Organic Pest Control for Slugs

The Spring rain storms in October and November have brought pests to my farm.

No doubt you’ve noticed the recent influx of butterflies, snails and slugs to your garden too around Brisbane and Moreton Bay and you might be wondering what you can do about them.

There are many organic ways to control pests in your garden.

One of the best tips for organic pest control is to use coffee grounds.

I sprinkle used coffee grounds from a local coffee shop around my greenhouse seedlings to deter the slugs.

You can use coffee from your cafetier or a local coffee shop, but make sure it's clean and has first been sieved.

Coffee grounds are also fantastic for your soil, so can help to add nutrients to your soil when slug season is over.
