A gorgeous perennial herb that will grow up to 1m high, the fragrance of crushed bergamot leaves gives a scent and taste of orange citrus. A member of the mint family, the summer blooming flower heads are red and attract birds and bees to the garden.
Planting Info
Bergamot likes cooler climates and soil that stays moist. Full sun to part shade, it thrives in compost rich soil. Best to plant in the cooler months in SEQ as does not cope well with humidity. Plant 80cm apart and give it a prune around autumn to encourage new growth.
