Red amaranth make a pretty addition to the flower bed. The leaves a high in protein, vitamins and minerals and the leaf colour looks wonderful added to salads or cook up like spinach (best to cut the leaves young). The leaves and stems can both be eaten.
Planting Info
An annual that grows to 100-150cm, plant seedlings 80cm apart. Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
