Coriander
Related to parsley, celery and carrot, Coriander is either loved or loathed. It is a short annual best grown in winters in South East Queensland. Less sunlight hours means slower growth and no bolting to seed. Chop the plant as you need it to promote more growth. In cooking, coriander is used widely around the world, it's leaves are called cilantro. All parts of the plant are edible. A great source of dietary fibre, manganese, iron and magnesium. In addition, coriander leaves are rich in vitamin C, vitamin K and protein. They also contain small amounts of calcium, phosphorous, potassium, thiamin, niacin and carotene.
Planting Info
Grows to 40-80cm requiring low water and low fertilizer. Plant in a warm, sheltered position. Doesn’t tend to get affected by many pests and diseases but a regular water with a seaweed solution and organic liquid fertiliser will encourage it to maintain it's vigour.
