Dill
Dill has a very long history, dating back to ancient Egyptian times. It was regarded as an indication of wealth and consumed for it's health and healing properties. An annual herb with fine feathery leaves, it has tiny yellow flowers that follow with oval shaped aromatic seeds. The leaves are used in cooking to flavour soups, sauces, fish and vegetables such as carrot and potato. The seeds can also be used in dips, stews, sauces and breads. Medicinally, dill is used to treat flatulence, colic and other digestive disorders.
