Ginger mint is a perennial with dark green leaves and reddish coloured stems, it often called slender mint or scotchmint. Having strong flavoured leaves it can be added to drinks, desserts, salads, oils, pot pourri and even used as an insect repellant. The aroma is similar to spearmint with a hint of ginger.  It may also be used to make a tea, which can be useful as a digestive aid.
